Bishop Bobby R. Allen is a native of Laneville, Texas. When Bishop Allen moved to Utah in 1960 he was a lay member and joined Griffin Temple COGIC under the leadership of the late Superintendent D. F. Griffin. Mother Allen was a licensed Evangelist Missionary living in Barstow, CA. She was active in the church and faithfully followed the direction of her pastor, the late Bishop Nathaniel Jones, Jr., who was also the Utah Jurisdiction Prelate. Through divine introduction, the two met and united in holy wedlock. The Allen's traveled throughout Utah and Idaho, proving their faithfulness unto the work of the Lord. This faithfulness led them back to Griffin (Memorial COGIC) in 1991. Two years later, Bishop Jones was called home and the late Bishop L.H. Ford installed Bishop Bobby R. Allen as the Prelate for the Utah Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ.
Bishop Allen has come up through the ranks in the Church of God in Christ. He has served as a Deacon, Associate Minister, Elder, Pastor, Sunday School Superintendent, Jurisdictional Choir President, and Jurisdictional Youth Department President. Prior to working full-time in the ministry, Bishop Allen was a Certified Mechanic at Cummins International Diesel in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is well-respected and recognized by affiliate pastors and those of other denominations throughout Utah and Idaho as the Senior Pastor in this region.
Bishop Allen is known to be a great teacher, counselor, prayer warrior, and dear friend. Bishop Allen has found favor with God and man and is truly tenacious in doing the will of the Lord.
